But he is a promising talent and can be Premier League ready in near future. His impressive form has got him selected for England under-18 side.

THE COBHAM ACADEMY COULD BE THE BEST PLACE FOR THE LEFT-BACK TO DEVELOP

The chances of Sturge establishing himself as a first-team player any time soon are unlikely. However, linking up with the famous Cobham academy can only do wonders for his development. Of course, this isn’t the kind of juicy transfer news that will excite supporters.

However, it is vitally important, that the academy continues to thrive under new ownership. The Blues also have had a long interest in him since January. Chelsea U-23 also avoided relegation last season on the last day of the season. So, it is quite evident improvement is needed.

There is also evidence that if Zak Sturge signs for Chelsea academy, he has the pathway to first-team football. The Cobham academy has produced the likes of Mason Mount and Reece James who are now regulars in the first team.
