Chelsea have finally announced the signing of Carney Chukwuemeka from Aston Villa. The midfielder is one of the best young midfielders currently.
He was going to leave on a free transfer in the next summer transfer window. However, to everyone’s surprise, the Blues have decided to make a big investment on the midfielder.

According to reports, the midfielder was all set to leave Aston Villa on a free transfer. Many European sides were interested in his services this summer. European giants including Barcelona were monitoring his situation. However, it seems all the interested teams except the Blues will return sadly. Chelsea have won the race for the midfielder.
Aston Villa will also benefit from the deal. The club will receive a fee of around £ 20 million including bonuses. An initial agreement was announced by both the clubs on Tuesday. However, the deal was completed by Thursday after medical and signing of contracts between the player and club. The midfielder is also happy to continue his development under Thomas Tuchel.

The midfielder was happy when the transfer was confirmed. He said, “It’s been quite hectic but I couldn’t get Chelsea out of my head the last few days so I’m just happy and relieved that it’s all done.”I’m so excited and just can’t wait to get on the pitch, meet all the players and try to win games and trophies with Chelsea”. The deal is also going to benefit both the clubs.
Villa will be getting a fee between 15-20m for a player that was going to leave on a free transfer this summer. Whereas, the Blues have got a talented midfielder for the present and future. First-team midfielders N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, and Ruben Loftus Cheek have been linked with an exit. Hence getting a young midfielder for the future was very important for Thomas Tuchel.
Chukwuemeka passed his medical and signed a six-year contract with the Blues. The deal will keep him with Chelsea till 2028. The 18-year-old midfielder will leave Villa Park after making 16 first-team appearances to his name including three starts.
