Chelsea look to make three more signings this summer

Chelsea have recently completed the signing of Marc Cucurella. The Spaniard was on the radar of Manchester City, but an agreement could not be reached. However, Thomas Tuchel sensed the opportunity to sign him.

Now, he is a player at Stamford Bridge, making his debut against Everton on the opening weekend. He is in contention to start the derby against Spurs on Sunday.

Cucurella became the third Chelsea signing of the summer. Despite facing setbacks with Raphina and Jules Kounde, the Blues have added Kalidou Koulibaly, Raheem Sterling and Cucurella this summer. They are still looking to add some players this month before the window shuts.

Who Are Chelsea Targeting?

The first one on their wish list is Leicester City’s Wesley Fofana. Chelsea is believed to have tried their luck once more after a rejected £60 million offer earlier this week. This time, the Blues have submitted an exorbitant offer costing up to £70 million in an effort to push Leicester. However, the Midlands outfit is reluctant to sell their star player, although Fofana himself seems open to the idea.

Cesare Casadei’s transfer to Chelsea from Inter Milan is also the subject of £20 million in negotiations. Todd Boehly has already made two unsuccessful offers for Casadei. If they can complete the deal, he might be their starting centre-midfielder in the future for the West London club.

Chelsea also want a striker in their squad. Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner have recently left the club. Kai Havertz has been used as a number 9, but does not quite fit the role. Hence, Tuchel will be looking for someone who can guarantee goals upfront.

They are looking at former Arsenal striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang. He joined Barcelona on a free transfer in January. The Catalans are unwilling to sell him though. Benjamin Šeško was also on the radar of Chelsea, but he has joined RB Leipzing.

Tuchel passed up on the chance to sign Cristiano Ronaldo earlier in the window, If nothing else, perhaps the German tactician may warm up to the idea of signing him later in the window.
