Everton forward Cenk Tosun is set to leave the club this summer

Everton

Everton forward Cenk Tosun has confirmed that he is leaving Goodison Park this season.

The Turkish international’s contract ends at the end of this season. Moreover, the Toffees are not going to renew his contract.

Tosun spent four and a half years with the Toffees. In that tenure, he managed only 11 goals from the 61 appearances he made for the Toffees.

He posted an emotional note on Instagram,

Dear Blue Family, I had a great four and a half years as a member of your family with ups and downs and now unfortunately it is time to say goodbye.”

I would like to thank my coaches, teammates, staff, board members, and the chairman I had worked with.”

And of course, I would like to thank our fans. I loved it to be an Evertonian and I will always be an Evertonian.”

I have nothing but love for this club! This club has so much potential and I am sure soon Everton will have better days and when the day comes I will be celebrating as well.”

Not a good time for Cenk Tosun at Goodison Park

Tosun is a good player but he was unfortunate for the time he joined the Merseyside club.

The forward strived to keep with the pace of the League. Moreover, later he suffered from many injuries which kept him out for a major portion.

From Carlo Ancelotti to Rafa Benitez to Frank Lampard- he fell out of favor with all these coaches.

Moreover, this season he has only got three matches to play. That also, he got only six minutes to play in the Premier League.

During his time with the Toffees, he was loaned out to Crystal Palace and Besiktas. However, there also he was not too successful.

He will leave the club as a free agent. Moreover, his return to Besiktas cannot be ruled out.
