As per recent reports, Everton have made an enquiry to sign Juventus forward Dejan Kulusevski. The player is in contention to leave the Old Lady, who are ready to offload the Swedish to make up funds for new signings.

Kulusevski joined Juventus in 2020 from Atalanta. During his time at Atalanta, the club loaned him out for one season to Parma. The player has scored 9 goals and 10 assists in 74 appearances for the Old Lady.

While clubs like Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have also shown interest for the Swedish, no significant move has been made. Therefore, Everton can easily acquire the services of Kulusevski and improve their right-wing situation. With the sacking of manager Rafa Benitez, the club is also in search for a new potential manager.

Kulusevski target for elite clubs

Apart from Spurs and Arsenal, the 21-years-old winger also previously attracted a lot of attention from Manchester City. Even Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have closely monitored the player.

With the introduction of manager Massimiliano Allegri, Kulusevski’s appearances have significantly dropped. In 27 appearances this season, the Swedish has scored 2 goals and provided 3 assists. In total, the player has just bagged 972 minutes for Juve. As a result, the potential-packed player is being wasted at the Allianz Stadium and he is now actively pushing for an exit. With game recognizing game, his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo has also previously spoken about the player. During his time at Juventus in 2020, speaking to Juve FC, the Portuguese said:

“I really like to see him, he has great potential, and he’s an excellent player. I hope to play with him and score a lot of goals together.”

The player is expected to carry a price tag of £30m, the amount Spurs were ready to pay but failed to strike the deal. However, the Old Lady will be ready to cash in the player for a lesser amount at the end of the season.

How Dejan’s introduction could benefit the Everton team ?

The Toffees are in a bit of a pickle after sacking Benitez as a result of a horrendous run of form. While Duncan Ferguson has taken over as caretaker manager, there is no guarantee on how long that will sustain.

Meanwhile, the club have also signed Anwar El Ghazi on a loan deal from Aston Villa, with the player yet to earn his spot in the team. Therefore, Kulusevski can prove to be a long-term investment taking into consideration his versatility of being able to play at LW, RW, LM, RM, CM, and second striker.
