Anthony Gordon has had a fantastic season with Everton last summer. He was instrumental in Everton’s battle to avoid relegation. He started 25 times in the Premier League. In these 25 appearances, he scored four goals and had three assists to his name. There has been a lot of interest and hype surrounding the youngster. Reportedly, Tottenham had expressed their interest in the player by wanting a double deal for Richarlison and Gordon. Other premier league clubs have also enquired about the player.

Gordon in a way represents the future of the club. He is a local boy and has risen through the academy to play for his club. He is a path maker for all the young players in the Everton academy. Considering the financial mess that Everton are in, the Toffees must integrate youth players into the first team properly. They will have to depend on their academy for players as big-money signings are off the table for a long period now.
