Everton, to sign Emmanuel Dennis as Richarlison’s successor?

Everton

Everton is reportedly eyeing a move for Emmanuel Dennis of Watford as a possible replacement for Richarlison if he decides to leave the club ahead of the start of the new campaign.

On the other hand, Richarlison had a superb season for the Toffees. Although the club was on the brink of relegation most of the season, he maintained his form throughout it. Everton finished in the 16th place in the points table in Premier League, 4 points off the relegation spot. In 38 games, they managed to get only 39 points and ended with a goal difference of -23. Richarlison was key to their survival this season as he bagged 10 goals and 5 assists in 29 PL apps.

But now reports heavily link him to a move away from the blue clan of Merseyside. Chelsea and Tottenham are among the clubs that registered interest in the Brazilian. Meanwhile, Richarlison arrived at the Goodison Park in the summer of 2018 from Watford. The club paid a hefty transfer fee of £50 million for the then 21-year-old.

Chances of the signing for Everton

Now, according to Daily Mail, Dennis, a current Hornets player, is one of a number of targets that Frank Lampard’s side has monitored should Richarlison leave the club this summer. The Nigerian enjoyed a stellar season for the Vicarage Road outfit although the club was relegated to Championship from Premier League. The forward arrived from the Belgian club Club Brugge last summer for a transfer fee of £3.5 million. The 24-year-old also has 4 years remaining on his current contract at the club. Watford values him at around £20 million. Despite the club’s relegation this season, the player was one of the top performers for them. He scored 10 goals and registered 6 assists in 33 league apps for Watford this season.
