FC Barcelona have been offered the chance to sign RB Leipzig left-back Angelino. However, the Spanish giants are yet to bid for the player.
Although, Xavi is desperate for a left-back before the start of the upcoming season. The player has been offered on a loan deal and a permanent deal.
ANGELINO AND FC BARCELONA TRANSFER LINKS FULL STORY
According to reports, Angelino wants to return to Spain. He has only played in his homeland when he was at RCD Mallorca in La Liga 2. Leipzig have also acquired David Raum from Hoffenheim for a sum north of €25 million. This has paved the way for Angelino to move on from the Bundesliga club. Hence, he has been offered to FC Barcelona, who themselves want a left-back at the club.
The report also adds that Barca are seriously considering him. Barcelona reportedly believe that he could be a great option for a low amount of money. Leipzig are also reportedly open to a loan with a purchase option/ obligation. The Catalan club believe that Angelino can awfully learn a lot from Jordi Alba who is himself a Barca legend. The report also adds that he is reportedly an alternative option.
WHY IS ANGELINO AN ALTERNATIVE OPTION FOR THE CLUB?
The prime target at left-back for the club and Xavi is still Marcos Alonso of Chelsea. However, since they have hijacked Chelsea’s signing of Jules Kounde, Thomas Tuchel does not want to sell any of the players to FC Barcelona. They are also keen to sign Cesar Azpilicueta from Chelsea. However, both the deals are being currently stalled over unrealistic Chelsea demands.
Hence, the club are now searching for alternatives if they can’t sign them. Both the players are keen on a move to the Spanish giants. However, Chelsea won’t sell them till they sign a replacement. Other names such as Grimaldo and Reguillon are also discussed by the Barca board as alternatives. Although, the main focus still remains either on Alonso or Angelino.
FC Barcelona have completed most of its signings this summer. Their main focus is on selling the deadwood players to fund the left-back and right-back signings. The club are also trying to sell Frenkie De Jong to fund the transfer of Bernando Silva from Manchester City.
