Arsenal’s sporting director Edu has been looking promising to sign some key players this transfer window. Edu along with Mikel Arteta is looking for the club’s best interest. Arsenal have been linked to top names across the whole europe. Recently they are reported to go after Villa’s amazing midfielder who is enjoying his great spell. However the move won’t be an easy task as Villa are now going to play in Champions League.
Douglas Luiz has been in England for almost 7 years now. He signed for Manchester City back in 2017 but unfortunately didn’t receive any play time there. City sent him on loan to spanish side Girona where Luiz showed his ability and was quickly signed by Aston Villa in 2019. Ever since 2019, Luiz has been an important player for Aston Villa. Luiz played an important part this season in making Villa’s way back in the Champions League. He played 35 Premier League matches this season and scored 9 goals along with providing 5 assists in those. Across all competitions the Brazilian international has managed to reach double figures in both goals and assists.
The Gunners are hoping to sign Luiz and pair him with Declan Rice. As Luiz plays as defensive midfielder he could be able to fill the void left by Partey’s departure. Aston Villa are reported to demand £85 million for Luiz but are hoping to keep him. Unai Emery has used Luiz very well and achieved successful results and hoping to continue the same in champions league as well.

The Gunners were heavily linked with Martin Zubimendi in the past weeks. The Spanish international was reported very close to make his move to North London. The reports are still saying that this deal can happen very soon. Zubimendi who also plays as defensive midfielder could cost Gunners £52 million which is way less than Luiz. Jorginho has now signed a new contract extension with Arsenal despite the offers from Serie A clubs.
