Ibrahima Sangare is still on the radar of Aston Villa

Aston Villa

A huge number of reports linked Aston Villa to plenty of central midfielders this summer transfer window until now. Another name that recently popped out is Ibrahima Sangare of PSV Eindhoven. Now, he is the latest name on the transfer radar of Aston Villa.

The Midlands club has been quite active this summer transfer window. They already added plenty of quality footballers. But the Steven Gerrard led side won’t just stop here. After signing Boubacar Kamara for free from Olympique Marseille, the club is in the hunt for another central mid option.

They now turned their attention to the PSV star Ibrahima Sangare. The former boss of Rangers want to fit another quality box-to-box midfielder in his squad. Sangare fits the profile perfectly and reports heavily link him away to the Premier League club.

Ibrahima Sangare situation

Despite those heavy links, Sangare wants to play for the Eredivisie club for at least one more season. However, journalist Josh Holland thinks that Villa could make a move for him this summer. While talking to GiveMeSport, he said: “I’ve been thinking and there are a few midfielders who I think Villa could go for. I know that Sangaré and PSV keeps on getting mentioned, and he’s got a release clause of £35m.”

Villa fans would be buzzing if they can secure the Ivorian’s signature this summer, considering his form last season. The player made 29 appearances in the Dutch league in the recently concluded season. WhoScored also gave the player an excellent rating of 7.49. The 24 year old also averaged 3.3 tackles per game.

The player’s core strength is intercepting, passing, tackling, dribbling and blocking – everything that a modern day central mid needs. Hence, we can conclude that Ibrahima Sangare could be a great addition to the Midlands club if they can get the deal over the line.
