Jamie Carragher thinks that Frank Lampard will save Everton from relegation this season. Lampard joined Everton in January last month and managed to save them from relegation. Lampard has made Everton a defensively solid team this season.

Everton are currently still just two points above the relegation zone after its defeat against Leicester on Saturday. Lampard can manage to keep them in the Premier League if the midfield problem has been resolved which is seem to be a weaker link.

‘He’s built a connection and rapport with the fans’: Jamie Carragher

While talking on The Overlap, Carragher said:

“I think what he says is right there,”

“It’s brilliant for the league as it is now. Everything is so tight. There’s no team sort of marooned at the bottom, or a Man City six points clear at the top. It’s really tight and it can make a real difference.

“Where Everton find themselves right now, because of their loss at the weekend (vs Leicester) is a bit worrying when you look at the league table.

“But the thing when you look at all those teams near the bottom, they’ve either all changed or want to change their manager. They’re not happy, if you like.

“The great thing Frank’s done is he’s built a connection and a rapport with the supporters. There’s something there, where nobody is pointing the finger at Frank.

“I think that sort of fit together, on the back of last season, I don’t think you’ll get to the situation you were last season. But I still think you’ll be there or thereabouts.

“I think midfield is a problem for you. Yeah. Idrissa Gueye.”
