Jose Mourinho claims on Klopp and Liverpool may come true

Chelsea

The Jose Mourinho claims could still come true for Klopp’s men. When Liverpool knocked out Manchester United 7-0 at Anfield a month ago. It seemed that they were in the driving seat to qualify for next season’s Champions League. That was however at the expense of some of their top four rivals.

They then went on to lose vs Bournemouth 1-0 away and A heavy 4-1 defeat away at Man City. That too on their return to action following the March international break. Which was followed up by a dismal 0-0 draw away at Chelsea on Tuesday night.

The Jose Mourinho claims

This season’s top 4 is the toughest challenge of Klopp’s Anfield reign but he should find a way to succeed. It could be his most impressive achievement.

Some Eyebrows were raised when the former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho said finishing 2nd was his biggest achievement at Manchester United. He further said,

If I tell you, for example, that I can see that one of the best jobs of my career was to finish second with Manchester United in the Premier League?” Mourinho said in January 2019, soon after a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool had resulted in him being sacked. “You say ‘this guy is crazy. He won 25 titles and he’s saying that second position was one of his best achievements in football”.

“I keep saying this because people don’t know what is going on behind the scenes. And sometimes we, on this side of the cameras, we analyse things with a different perspective.”

Klopp’s duties

If Klopp can rescue the Reds’ season from these darkest depths. As Mourinho said of United’s own ‘lesser triumph’, it really will be one of his best achievements in football.

Klopp’s Liverpool was crowned champions of England, Europe, and the world only a few years ago. They went on to win the Premier League, Champions League, and every major honour going. They very nearly delivered an unprecedented quadruple less than 12 months ago, but that all counts for nothing now.
