Vedran Corluka, a former defender for Manchester City, has received appreciation from Josko Gvardiol. The 21-year-old was asked to choose his all-time Croatian XI who have competed in the Premier League while speaking to City’s official YouTube channel.

Vedran Corluka’s close collaborator Gvardiol named him in his side. The two of them work closely together in the international setup.

Vedran Corluka can teach him a lot of things, claims Josko Gvardiol

While Corluka is well-known for his stint at Tottenham Hotspur, he only spent one season with the Sky Blues. The young player at the time made an impression with City, making 47 appearances during his one and only season there, which led to Harry Redknapp’s Spurs signing him.

Vedran Corluka has recently received praise from Josko Gvardiol, who included him in his all-time Croatian Premier League XI.

Josko Gvardiol said

“At the moment, he’s the assistant manager in the national team. He does set-pieces, videos and it is good that he is a part of the national team. For me, he had an incredible career and I can learn a lot of things from him as well.”

It appears that the Man City defender is eager to learn

There is no denying how talented the former RB Leipzig center-back is and has always been. Mateo Kovacic even called Josko Gvardiol as “phenomenal.”

Josko Gvardiol had been predicted to become the best defender in the world, thus it may come as a surprise to some to learn that he draws inspiration from Vedran Corluka, a class player who never made it to the top level despite being a class player.

Gvardiol must, however, have a profound awareness of the 37-year-old’s background. He should also respect him for his impressive time spent in English football if he wants to work closely with such seasoned professionals as the 37-year-old.

At the end of the day, Josko Gvardiol exhibits the traits of a player of the highest calibre. He also shows a willingness to learn and respect for his predecessors.
