According to the latest reports, the Italian club Sampdoria wants to make Dennis Praet of Leicester City their ‘dream’ signing.
Leicester City midfielder Dennis Praet joined the club in 2019 from Sampdoria for a transfer fee of £18 million. But now reports link him back to his former club as they want to make him their dream signing. Since his arrival at King Power Stadium, the player amassed 60 apps. He also played a key part in winning Leicester City’s first ever FA Cup triumph last year against Chelsea at Wembley.
But after that, he fell down the pecking order last season for Brendan Rodgers and later loaned out to Torino. There he also missed most of the season due to recurring injuries. He could make only 24 apps for the club in the recently concluded campaign in all competitions. In that period he scored 2 goals and registered 2 assists.
Who is ahead in the race of the Leicester City midfielder?
On the other hand, reports also claimed that Torino also registered interest in signing the player. But that depends on Praet’s fitness and the club’s situation, both financially and squad-wise. Now, according to Il Secolo XIX (via Sport Witness) ‘Praet’s former side Sampdoria have made the Belgian their ‘dream’ signing this summer and are ‘thinking of bidding’ for him.’
The lawyer of Sampdoria, Antonio Romei who is also in charge of negotiations said this can be a difficult transfer. The lawyer alongside club president Marco Lana is thinking about a transfer for Praet this summer. But they are also aware that the Leicester man can be difficult to get over the line.
Torino boss Ivan Juric also asked the club president Urbano Cairo to make Praet’s loan move permanent. Leicester City put Praet up for sale and are seeking a transfer fee of around €12 million (£10.4 million) as the minimum bid for the Belgian.
