Liverpool wants to sign Jude Bellingham next summer. According to Bild’s Christian Falk, Liverpool have developed a firm interest in the player.
Since Georginio Wijnaldum left this summer on a free transfer to Paris Saint-Germain. The Reds are actively looking for his replacement. Moreover, Liverpool haven’t signed anyone this summer to fill in his position. It is possible that Liverpool could make a big-money move for the England international.
Further, the report says Liverpool want the teenager, but a transfer could be difficult due to the player’s contract status. Bellingham joined Borussia Dortmund last summer from Birmingham City for £25 million. He turned down the chance to move to Manchester United. Since his debut for Dortmund Bellingham has been very important for them.
Bellingham has four years left on his deal. Meanwhile, Falk believes that Dortmund will not be willing to sell Bellingham next summer. Dortmund are very certain that they are likely to lose Erling Haaland next summer because of his £65m release clause. Dortmund are likely to keep hold of the English midfielder for another year.
Borussia Dortmund centre-back Mats Hummels has been very impressed by Bellingham’s performances. Hummels believes that Jude Bellingham is just 18 and one of the most mature players in the team. Bellingham is a very composed player and has already played and scored in the Champions League. In addition to this, he already has eight senior appearances for the England senior team.
If Liverpool fail to sign Jude Bellingham who are their other options?
Liverpool are willing to pay £80 million for the English prospect, Jude Bellingham. But, it’s unlikely because Dortmund are keen on keeping hold of the player. Moreover, Liverpool are trying to make a move for Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma.
