Liverpool Closing in on Bayern Munich Midfielder Ryan Gravenberch after Szoboszlai Signing

Liverpool

Liverpool is making significant moves in the summer transfer window, with reports indicating that they are close to securing the signature of Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch. The Reds have already completed the signing of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton in a bargain deal worth £35 million. They are also on the verge of securing the services of RB Leipzig midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai for a fee of €70 million.

With the departures of Naby Keita, James Milner, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Liverpool is actively seeking to bolster their midfield options. Sources suggest that, despite the impending arrival of Szoboszlai, the Reds still maintain interest in Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram. Additionally, they have now set their sights on Ryan Gravenberch. Jurgen Klopp touts him as a top target for the transfer window.

“Crazy Offer” for Ryan Gravenberch

Spanish publication Fichajes suggest that Liverpool is very close to reaching a transfer agreement with Bayern Munich for 21-year-old Dutch midfielder Ryan Gravenberch. The exact figures of the offer have not been disclosed. However, reports describe it as a “crazy offer” from the Premier League side. Gravenberch moved to Bayern Munich from Ajax last summer. Although, he has struggled to establish himself in the team and may be seeking more playing time elsewhere.

Despite the interest from Liverpool, Gravenberch has expressed his commitment to Bayern Munich. In an interview with Dutch outlet Algemeen Dagblad, he assumes he will still be playing at the Allianz Arena next season. Gravenberch expressed appreciation for being at one of the top clubs in the world. He remains determined to succeed at Bayern.

Liverpool’s Pursuit of Multiple Targets

Alongside Gravenberch and Thuram, Liverpool is also reportedly pursuing Micky Van de Ven from Wolfsburg.

Notably, the same agents represent all three players, which could potentially streamline the negotiations. At the moment, Liverpool is considering a deal for Thuram as more likely, while they view Gravenberch as an attractive prospect, pending Bayern Munich’s assessment of his future role in the team.

Liverpool is preparing for a potential squad overhaul. They are not only pursuing talented players but also expanding Anfield Stadium with a safe standing licence. The expansion of rail seating by 3,000 to 13,300 is seen as a crucial step to enhance the matchday experience for supporters.
