Jose Enrique has backed Liverpool to sign Christian Eriksen on a free transfer, Tottenham are seemingly the favorites to land his signature. Eriksen spent the second half of the 2021/22 season Premier League season at Brentford. He had only signed a contract until the end of the season with the Bees. Brentford would be keen to extend his contract.

But they face serious competition from Manchester United, Tottenham, and Newcastle United. Eriksen, wherever he goes would like to play every match as much as possible. Now Enrique has advised the one-time Serie-A winner to sign for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool instead of Tottenham.

WILL LIVERPOOL GO HEAD TO HEAD WITH TOTTENHAM TO SIGN CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN

Jose Enrique would like Liverpool to sign Eriksen as a short-term solution to the midfielder problem as posted on his IG story. “Another interesting player that could be our solution to our midfield,” said Enrique. “And spending nothing because he is a free agent.“He is a short-term solution but then we can wait for Bellingham next season – He will play if he deserves to play like everyone else. Eriksen is a top player and I believe he can compete for a starting spot in our XI. The season is very long. Enrique is not actually long.

Liverpool does go deep in every competition they participate in. So with potentially over 65 games a season and World Cup in Qatar this year, Eriksen would get plenty of starts and game time. Although Tottenham holds the lead in signing the Danish midfielder. He has had great memories with Tottenham before signing for Inter Milan.

If he signs for the Spurs he will reunite with his Inter Milan manager and current Tottenham manager Antonio Conte. The north London club is also back in the Champions League. Being in the Champions League always gives you the edge in signing players as the elite players want to be playing in the elite competition.

He has still not yet officially confirmed he is leaving Brentford which gives the Bees some hope of re-signing him. The midfielder’s contract with Brentford expires this month. So we will soon know, who Eriksen chooses as his new club.
