Liverpool playmaker Harvey Elliot is benefitting from the new formation set up by manager Jurgen Klopp. The right-winger is one of the regular starters this season.
Hence, he is a very important player for the system that is set up by Klopp. He is also highly rated by the manager and the hierarchy.
THE RISE OF HARVEY ELLIOT AT LIVERPOOL
Harvey Elliot signed for Liverpool in 2019 from Fulham. However, he was not involved with the first team in that season. He went on loan out to Championship side Blackburn. At that point, everybody thought he would go on loan again next season. Many also expected him to be sold for a big profit. However, Jurgen Klopp made it clear that Harvey Elliot was in his plans for next season.
The playmaker in the next season struggled with injury issues. Hence, he was unable to play in the majority of the games. Whereas, in some games, he was used as a late substitute for Liverpool. Although, this season with the sale of Sadio Mane, Harvey Elliot has taken responsibility. The winger has also stayed injury free since his last major injury against Leeds United in 2021.
THE PLAYMAKER IS NOW ONE OF THE REGULAR STARTERS FOR JURGEN KLOPP
Liverpool is currently dealing with injury issues for some of the players. Hence, Jurgen Klopp has to change his team in every match day. However, Harvey Elliot has made the most of his opportunity. The right-winger is one of the first names on the team sheet this season. He also played brilliantly against Manchester City.
Harvey Elliot was brilliant going forward. He also helped defensively. The winger was brilliant with his passing in the game. He also crossed the ball into the box to give the forwards some chances. Elliot was also impressed with his defensive work. He helped James Milner defend against Phil Foden on the right side to defend the crosses.
Hence, it looks like Harvey Elliot is all set to be the future star of Liverpool. Therefore, Jurgen Klopp will have to keep on giving him chances this season. The right winger has already signed a long-term contract extension with the club.
