Liverpool signs Gravenberch just as the window ends but he isn’t the last

Liverpool

The transfer window has officially ended, but thankfully there are some good news. Gravenberch is finally part of the Liverpool roster, and he might not be the only player the club signs.

The Reds has had quite the trouble obtaining the player. As Bayern Munich rejected their original £42 million bid which greatly surpasses the player’s value at the time. However the club was quite determined to make the addition, and indeed did after further negotiation. The finale asking price was a surprising £35 million.

And as the club found someone to fill a bit of the the space left by Fabinho and Henderson, it might finally start recovering. Since the effect of the gap was quite noticeable in some of their Premier league games.

However, during this entire window, the club was unable to secure a left-sided centre-back. The club had the opportunity to add both Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo, but lost both to Chelsea. Such a failure may cost the Reds dearly. As this weakness could be the ink that marks a permanent stain in the club’s records similar to the 2020/21 campaign.

Can we know who Liverpool signs after Gravenberch?

The short answer is no. Still, we know for sure that there can be a new addition despite the window closing. Liverpool’s latest signing director Jorg Schmadtke stated that there may be new developments once reviews his future with the club back at Anfield.

Schmadtke seems to enjoy his time at the club and was able to fit rather well with the new work environment. However, some fans do not view the director in a good light. Whatever the case may be, the man still has a year long contract where we can see what he will bring to the table.
