According to several reports, Liverpool will be facing competition from another two clubs for signing Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio. The reds were linked with Asensio a few weeks earlier as Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his attack next summer. But now Liverpool has a hard competition for Marco Asensio as two Italian giants Juventus and AC Milan have joined the race for the winger.
Marco Asensio joined Real Madrid back in 2015 and was immediately sent on a loan spell to Espanyol for one year. Upon his return from the loan spell, he used to get some irregular starts for Real Madrid. To date, Asensio has appeared 199 times for Los Blancos scoring 40 goals and 22 assists. While the Spaniard scored his first hat-trick for Madrid against his former side Mallorca this week.
However, his time at Real Madrid could have ended this summer as the club seemed to sell Asensio. But a proper deal didn’t arrive, following which Madrid decided to keep him for this season. While his probable transfer next summer is already taking up the news from now.
As per earlier reports, Liverpool are keen on bringing Asensio to England next summer. The reds lost Xherdan Shaqiri to Lyon following which they need a replacement in the attack. And Jurgen Klopp seems to be interested in signing Asensio following his talent in the attack. But it might be a little hard to convince Asensio to sign for Liverpool next summer.
That’s because two Italian giants Juventus and AC Milan seemed to have joined the race for Marco Asensio. Following this, Liverpool needs to offer something extra to lure Asensio to their side next summer.
Why does Juventus and AC Milan target Marco Asensio?
Juventus have been struggling this season after losing Cristiano Ronaldo to Manchester United. The team has only one 1 league out of the 5 they have played and currently sit 12th in the table. It is an open secret now how the Italian giants have failed in attack after failing to win easy-scoring matches. Following this, they need an up gradation in the attack and have joined the race for signing Marco Asensio.
AC Milan till now are enjoying a good season as they are standing top in the Serie A table. But the club still wants some changes in their team in the next summer. And currently, they are focusing on the attacking department as they seem to target Marco Asensio. The winger will definitely give a strong right attacking presence in the pitch with great passing and long shots. While Asensio would like to join Milan as he might be getting more game time there.
