Manchester City set to sign Everton sensation Emilio Lawrence.

Manchester City have reportedly agreed to sign Everton wonderkid Emilio Lawrence. The player is regarded as one of the best young prospects in the country.

The 16-year-old has been on the radar of number of the Premier League clubs. A number of Premier League sides including Manchester United and Chelsea were interested in his services. However, it looks like Manchester City have won the race for Lawrence . They have reportedly reached full agreement with the payer.

In the start of transfer window Chelsea were leading the race to sign the youngster. However, City have jumped the queue and made a move for the youngster. Everton had offered him a scholarship contract. However, he refused to sign it as number of top clubs were interested in signing him. Now it seems rejecting the contract was worth the wait.

HE WILL BE PLAYING IN ONE OF THE BEST ACADEMY IN THE WORLD

Lawrence is set to play in one of the best academy in the world. It is the perfect place for such a bright prospect to prosper in. City are renowned for having a strong academy. Players like Phil Foden and Cole Palmer are now part of the first team. However, they have also managed to get money for the players that don’t prosper in the first team.

They have managed to sell Gavin Baznu, Romeo Lavia , CJ Egan-Riley, and Darko Gyabi for a combined fee of £28million this summer. The players only managed 5 appearances for the first team between them. However, City can only hope Lawrence is not like one of them. The Scot has scored seven goals and provided three assists in 23 games for Everton U-18s last season.

Although, the situation is very alarming for Everton. They have lost another bright prospect again. Last year they lost young full-back Theiry Small to Southampton. Theiry Small then went onto become the club’s youngest player to make a first team appearence last season.
