Manchester United are closing in on the signing of Christian Eriksen on a free transfer. The move has been on the cards for five years at previous stages of his career.
However, his decision to join Red Devils may cause a stir with Spurs supremo Daniel Levy. The midfielder will reportedly break a promise he made to Daniel Levy.

Eriksen suffered cardiac arrest during Euros. This required him to be revived on the pitch. Strict health regulations in Italy meant he could not play with Inter. The players was mutually terminated. Eriksen found himself out in the cold without a club. He was wanted by top Europe clubs three years ago. However, Thomas Frank handed him a lifeline at Brentford.
He signed a short-term contract with Brentford in the January transfer window. The midfielder at the club just showed why he was the best midfielder three years ago. However, he has decided not to renew his short-term contract. It seems Manchester United have won the race for his signature. Although, the player has broken a promise he made to Daniel Levy by signing with United.
THE PROMISE MADE BY THE DANISH MIDFIELDER TO DANIEL LEVY
According to reports, the Danish midfielder promised Levy he won’t play for another rival club in the Premier League. He gave the promise out of respect for the Spurs. However, due to his cardiac arrest, Eriksen can only play in certain leagues. Many leagues don’t allow him to play ICD ( Implantable Cardio Defibrillator). So, his options immediately became limited. The midfielder wanted to be fit and fresh for the World Cup this year in Qatar. Therefore, due to this reason, Eriksen has decided to play for United.
The report also states Erik Ten Hag considers him a very important player in the project. This story clearly states in football, you can never say never. It looks like Christian Eriksen will play against Spurs in a United shirt. He set to sign for the Red Devils after he passes his medicals.
