Manchester United have set their heat on the West Ham midfielder Declan Rice. The Hammers rate Rice at around £100m. However Manchester United are not willing to pay £100m. This deal could progress with a player swap.

Meanwhile, The Mirror have reported that United will include West Ham’s long term target, Jesse Lingard. Jesse Lingard spend an amazing loan spell at the London Stadium. He scored nine goals in the Premier League for the Hammers. Manchester United value him at £30m.

After the Premier League tie between West Ham United and Leicester City Gary Neville spoke about Declan Rice. Meanwhile, Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek pulled off a midfielder masterclass. In the interview, Gary Neville said that Declan Rice could fit in any midfield in the Premier League. Along with Manchester United Chelsea are also want to sign Rice. The Telegraph has claimed that Rice is unhappy with West Ham’s valuation. He believes that hefty valuation is keeping his suitors at bay. Neville believes Rice should be valued at £60m.

Manchester United could make a move for Declan Rice this summer in a player plus cash deal. Earlier at the start of Pre-Season Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted that Lingard has a role to play at Old Trafford. Even though United’s boss has plans for the England international, he may be forced to sell Lingard.

United are in desperate need of a defensive midfielder. In their previous Premier League fixture against Southampton United felt the urgency for a defensive midfielder. During the game, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer started the midfield duo of Fred and Matic. The two players were not able to complement each other’s qualities. The midfield duo lost possession over 35 times combined. These two points dropped could end up being very costly for The Red Devils.

Meanwhile, this game sparked United’s interest for Rice. Manchester United are willing to give Jesse Lingard plus cash for Rice. Moreover, the signing of Rice would truly make Manchester United title contenders.
