Mikel Arteta explains the reason behind Kai Havertz’s improved form

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta reveals why Kai Havertz’s performance is improve. Kai Havertz is getting back into form under Arteta this season. The manager insists that Havertz is ‘growing confidence’ and due to this his game is upgrading. The Gunners signed him for £65million from their city rivals Chelsea this summer. Although the German was struggling to settle his boots in North London, he is now revamping. He was under heavy criticism at the start for his poor performance and missed chances. Not only the German but also Arteta was on the radar of critics for his transfer.

However, the German is now back in form scoring four goals in last seven games. Speaking in a press conference after a 2-0 win over Brighton, Arteta shares how German man is upgrading. He said,

“His confidence is growing and he feels more secure on the field. The fact he’s scored one helped to score the second one. It’s four in seven games now and he should have scored a header today as well in a really good position.

But overall, his performances, the intelligence he shows on the pitch, the aggression, how he works defensively, it’s top. Really good.”

The Gunners won their match against Brighton 2-0 in which Havertz scored the second goal. Speaking about the victory, Arteta was lauding his men. He said,

I think we fully deserved to win the game. I have to praise them because I know how difficult it is and what Brighton do to teams. We didn’t allow that to happen, so I’m super happy.”
