NATHAN AKE WANTS TO STAY AT MANCHESTER CITY RATHER GOING TO NEWCASTLE UNITED

However, Ake intends to remain with the Premier League Champions and hopes he can continue to develop under Pep Guardiola. Speaking to Dutch news outlet NOS, he said. “Last season (2020-21) was very unhappy due to injuries, I don’t really count that year. This season (2021-22) I was really 100% present and I played more. You notice an improvement in yourself, and how you play. It felt good.”I will go into the [new] season with that intention (to play for Man City). I will do everything I can to play even more.” . Ake is used at the center back or the left-back if injuries happen.

He has also started in almost all cup games. The Dutch defender has started 19 of his 27 games, across all competitions. Ake, though still has three years left on his contract.

Although, many City fans are happy for Ake to stay at the club. It is because the player is very versatile in the positions he plays. He can play left-sided center back in back 3. He can also play at left-back if the club is having injury issues at the position.
