Manchester City target Gabriel Misehouy’s agent, Guido Albers, has now shot down rumors that his client would be moving to the Etihad Stadium.

At the end of the current season, Gabriel Misehouy’s terms come to an end. Now, though, it appears that the teenager will stick with Ajax and try to travel to Amsterdam.
As quoted by Voetbal Zone, Albers says: “I’ve never spoken to City, and never with another foreign club. My only goal with Gabriel is to reach Ajax 1 (Ajax’s first-team).”
Gabriel himself has previously said: “It is great that such a top club is interested. But I have always said that it is my dream to stay at Ajax. I just want to have a clear plan.”
Therefore – by the sounds of it – the Dutchman and his agent are fully focused on Ajax. Which suggests a move to Manchester City will not materialise in 2024.
It’s unfortunate for the treble winners because Gabriel seems like a very talented person.
The Guardian reports that “connoisseurs of the game” have called the Netherlands Under-19 international a “wonderkid” in the past, and he has captained Ajax multiple times while still in the youth ranks.
Misehouy may still be signed by Manchester City
Gabriel, who was born in Amsterdam, and his representative continue to give Ajax priority, but his contract situation is unchanged.
As things stand, Misehouy will depart this summer on a free transfer.
Consequently, regardless of what Albers stated on the Pantelic Podcast, Manchester City needs to continue to be aware of the situation.
Gabriel would undoubtedly be happy to move to Manchester City, where he would have a great chance of realizing his enormous potential under Pep Guardiola, if an agreement cannot be reached.
