Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Jesse Lingard on a free transfer. They have signed the 29-year-old forward on a one-year contract.
The newly-promoted side beat the competition of West Ham United for his signature. Nottingham Forest have made him the highest earner in the club’s history.

According to the reports, West Ham United were in the driving seat for his signature. However, his high wage demands were becoming a big issue in negotiations. Lingard also wanted to join West Ham due to his relationship with David Moyes. He also scored many goals while he was on loan at the club. The forward also helped the club qualify for the Europa League.
Although, West Ham’s board were not ready to agree to his high demands. They thought his high wages would create problems in the squad. It seems like Nottingham Forest took the advantage of the situation. The newly promoted side will reportedly pay Jesse Lingard around £115,000-a-week wages plus the bonuses. This could take his wages to £ 180,000 a week.

The Reds finalized an agreement with the England international on Thursday. Lingard was also announced by the club on the same day on their official website. Ahead of their eagerly awaited return, Nottingham Forest have been busy in the transfer window. Lingard becomes signing number 11 so far in the summer transfer window.
The club so far have signed Dean Henderson, Moussa Niakhate, Omar Richards, Lewis-O-Brien, Harry Toffolo, Taiwo Awoniyi, Gulian Biancone, Brandon Aguilera, and Wayne Hennessey have all joined Lingard at the City ground ahead of the new season. The owner has promised the manager Steve Cooper of supporting him in the transfer window. It looks like the owner has kept the promise.
Jesse Lingard was at Manchester United for 22 years. He went on to make 230 appearances for the first team at Old Trafford. He also scored 35 goals during the spell. The forward played 32 times for England national team during the spell at Manchester United. He also helped the club win FA Cup, Community Shield, and Europa League during his spell at the club.
