Richarlison May Bid Goodbye To Everton

Brazilian international and Everton forward Richarlison has revealed he is considering a future at the club amid transfer interest. Clubs such as Tottenham, Chelsea, and Arsenal are heavily monitoring the situation around Richarlison.

The season has been full of struggles for him and Everton but somehow Richarlison got 11 goals in 33 appearances. Out of 11, 7 came in his last 9 matches which made a monumental difference in Everton’s relegation battle.

The 25-year Brazilian international arrived in 2018 from Watford for a sum of £35 million. Since his arrival, he has been a fan favorite which was exuberantly visible in Everton’s last few matches. But this season with the departure of Carlo Ancelotti and the appointment of Rafa Benitez things took a hit for the toffees.

The unavailability of Sigurdson, Losing Digne to Villa, Rodriguez and injuries contributed to a season that saw Everton almost getting relegated. Players with poor morale such as Calvert Lewin and Pickford were like rubbing salt on the wound. Everton wasn’t scoring goals but we’re conceding too many. The hope that Ancelotti gave to the fans of Everton started to fade away.

For fans watching their team get battered was painful because last season they beat Liverpool 2-0 at Anfield. From that stage to be involved in a relegation battle is some serious downfall.

What does Richarlison say?

Richarlison is currently with Tite’s Brazil squad and during an interview with Globo Esporte he said:

“I’ve already made it clear to the board, I’ve already talked to Lampard too, with my agents and they know what I want. Let’s wait for June. Now I can’t talk, because when I talk about leaving a club I’m kind of like this, because of the history I have at Everton, the affection that the fans have for me when I talk about leaving I’m kind of speechless.”

In this potential transfer build-up, Arsenal has emerged as a potential place where he can play next season. The gunners are all out of their striker option and desperately need reinforcements. The gunners can either create a new front three or depend on academy players which may not be a wise choice.

PSG is also interested in signing the Brazilian, where he can join with his South American counterparts. Although this move was intended to fill the void left by Mbappe now it’s very unlikely to happen as Mbappe has decided to stay. Even though this move happens it is most likely to increase the squad depth and bench quality.
