Ryan Kent Is On Steven Gerrard’s Wishlist

Steven Gerrard can be reunited with his former player Ryan Kent this summer. The Englishman is an electric winger who plays for Rangers. After last season’s disappointing campaign that saw Dean Smith sacked, Gerrard may be looking to bolster his forward line.

The 25-year-potential old’s transfer to the Premier League has been mentioned. The player and Gerrard, would be more than willing to reunite according to journalist Pete O’Rourke

It [Gerrard factor] would give them an advantage over any other team in the Premier League if they do decide to push forward with a deal for Ryan Kent. I think Gerrard would love him back, and I’m sure Ryan Kent would really relish the opportunity of working under Steven Gerrard again.”

Previously, 90min claimed that teams in the English top division were indicating a lot of interest in Kent. Leeds United, Everton, Wolves, and recently promoted Fulham are looking to sign the Englishman. RB Leipzig are also interested . According to Football Insider, Kent has a £20 million release clause in his contract. This is a relatively low amount of money and can be worth a gamble. Aston Villa have shown to be financially strong, and can certainly afford him.

How Has Kent Been

Kent has been a solid player for Rangers. Last season, he played 46 times, registering 20 assists and 3 goals. The Scottish team went on to the Europe League final, where they lost on penalties by Frankfurt.

Former player Owen Hargreaves is a big fan of the winger, even comparing him to Franck Ribery once.

For a cheap amount, Ryan Kent can be a shrewd signing. Villa signed Leon Bailey and Danny Ings this summer, but both struggled with injuries. Perhaps a more reliable option can benefit them more this season.
