Steven Gerrard still sees Danny Ings as an Integral Part of the Aston Villa. The statement comes amidst links of Ings to Leeds United.

Jesse Marsh and The Whites are on the hunt for a new forward in this transfer window. Now Ings has emerged as a suitable candidate for the position at Elland Road.

Ings has had a very inconsistent season with Villa so far. He has underperformed severely in this season. Despite that, a move away from Villa park seems unlikely for Ings. Simon Thomas, from Sky Sports live, has reported the following

Leeds have been linked with Aston Villa forward Danny Ings

The news is that Aston Villa have no intention of selling Danny Ings, you might have seen those reports linking him with a possible move to Manchester United or Leeds United, and it had been suggested that Aston Villa may be open to offers for the striker, he only joined from Southampton in August of last year for a £25million deal, signing on a three-year deal.

Sky Sports News has been told in the last few minutes that Steven Gerrard sees him as an integral part of the squad.”

Ings transfer to Leeds might have proved to be a smart move by many. But it would have cost Leeds a fortune.

Aston Villa was unwilling to accept anything less than the £25million that they bought him for. On top of the huge transfer fee, there’s the issue of his wage. With the £25million transfer fees and his big wage bill, it would have made a club-record deal for Leeds.

If Leeds wants to break the bank, they should do it for someone younger. Danny Ings has been inconsistent all season. The Englishman is a spectacular and capable player, no doubt about that. But considering his injury record and his inconsistency, it would be a waste for Leeds.
