Aston Villa

Joao Pedro is supposedly inclined on a move to Newcastle, 90min understand. However, the Magpies face competition for the Brazilian.

Newcastle have so far made an offer of £30 million for Pedro, including some add-ons. However, Watford are demanding £35 million. The difference is still persisting, but Newcastle hope that they can agree upon a fee.

The player himself is eager to transfer to Tyneside, and he has let the club know that. Eddie Howe will hope that the two are on the same page regarding this.

Newcastle has informed Watford that they believe the £30 million offer to be reasonable. They are hesitant to raise their existing offer substantially in the hopes that the Londoners would eventually give in.

However, according to insiders at Watford, a number of Premier League competitors have gotten in touch with the Hornets and are offering more than Newcastle. Everton is one of those clubs, while Wolves, Leicester, Nottingham Forest, and Leeds are also thought to have been monitoring the situation.

On the topic of Watford forwards, Senegalese star Ismaila Sarr looks to stay at Vicarage Road for the time being. Thai comes after his move to Aston Villa collapsed.

Sarr was scheduled for a medical on Monday after Aston Villa and Watford reached an agreement on a transfer fee of more than £25 million with add-ons. But Steven Gerrard and Villa’s executives backed out of the agreement due to some doubts.

Problems arose when the two camps were discussing the finer details of the contract. Moreover, there were disagreements over the loan deal of Kourtney Hause or Cameron Archer. The Hornets wanted either one of them to make the move in the opposite direction as a part of the deal. However, the deal never materialised.
