Tottenham Hotspur And Their Summer Plans

tennis player

Tottenham Hotspur enjoyed a strong end to last season. They finished in Champions League places against all odds. It seemed at one point that everything was going downhill for the North London team. The appointment of Nuno Espirito Santos looked like a disaster, while Harry Kane wanted to leave.

But the appointment of Antonio Conte was a game-changer. He revitalized the squad and got the players firing again. The signing of Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur further solidified their push for the top 4.

Now they would like to push further and strengthen the squad. Daniel Levy has given assurances to Conte about a big transfer budget. Spurs have already signed Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster and Yves Bissouma. They are all fantastic buys, but there are more areas to be strengthened. They are looking toward more players in that regard.

1. Djed Spence

The Middlesbrough right wingback impressed on loan at Nottingham Forest last season, as they won promotion to the Premier League.

Antonio Conte appreciates the threat he provides form wider areas, and would like to sign him. Emerson Royal has not particularly impressed after his move from Barcelona, and an upgrade may be in place.

Boro demand a fee of 15 million Pounds, which Spurs are not willing to match. It is believed that a deal can be struck once both sides agree on a fee.

2. Christian Eriksen

Spurs have reportedly cooled their interest in the Danish playmaker. Eriksen was touted for a romantic return back to his older club, but it seems to be off for now.

The Dane must now decide between signing a new contract with Brentford or moving to Manchester United as Tottenham concentrates on other positions throughout this window.

3. Richarlison

Everton forward Richarlison has been linked with a move away from Goodison this window.

Tottenham have an elite frontline, but in order to compete on all fronts, they need good depth. Richarlison provides such an option. He can be an ideal backup as well as a partner to Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min

At the same time, Harry Winks is a name that has been of interest to Everton. The two clubs may arrange a swap deal to facilitate the exchange.

4. Raphinia

The Brazilian winger is a hot commodity at the moment. Barcelona have agreed personal terms with him for a long time. But their financial situation has prevented them from making a concrete offer.

In the wake of this development, Arsenal and Spurs have been alerted. They are in a tussle to sign Raphinia.

The winger will cost them in the region of 60 million. It is not yet clear where his next destination will be as of now. The coming weeks shall make it more clear.
