Tottenham have reportedly registered their interest in signing Besiktas left-back Ridvan Yilmaz this summer.

The left-back has rejected a contract extension at Besiktas. Therefore, the Turkish side might be pressured into a cut-price sale in the coming weeks. It will be to avoid losing him on a free transfer in 2023.

TOTTENHAM AND RIDVAN YILMAZ TRANSFER LINKS FULL STORY

The 21-year-old has spent his entire career with the Turkish giants. He caught the eye with his contributions in the 2021-22 season. The report alleges that Eintracht Frankfurt had an agreement in place with the player. However, a deal could ultimately not be struck with Besiktas. The Turkish side wanted full up-front payment. However, the Europa League champions wanted to pay in installments.

Although, it seems Tottenham have been linked up with the Turkey international. According to reports, Spurs are now set to step up their interest. The Premier League side have enquired about his availability. Antonio Conte also reportedly has sent scouts to watch the left-back in action.

SPURS ARE MAKING MOVES THIS SUMMER

The wing-back areas have proved tricky for Cnte to fill on a consistent basis during the last season. Ryan Sessegnon spent a good chunk of the term in the treatment room. Sergio Reguilon also had to deal with injuries in the final weeks of the season. Ivan Perisic has arrived from Inter Milan to bolster Conte’s options on the left-hand side. However, his defensive side is still a question.

So signing the young Turkish left-back would be a great signing for Spurs. The defender is also available for a very little fee. However, currently, the Spurs boss is making improvements elsewhere. He is currently focusing on signing Clement Lenglet on loan from Barcelona. The deal is expected to quickly wrap up within 2 days. Tottenham have already made 4 signings this summer. They were in the form of Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Ivan Perisic, and Richarlison.

Yilmaz has totaled four goals and seven assists in 62 senior appearances for the Istanbul-based side. He also won one Super-Lig title, Turkish Cup, and Turkish Super Cup in the process.
