Transfer strategy of Manchester United blasted as they decide against Kalvin Philips’s transfer.

Manchester United were again trolled for their transfer strategy. Erik Ten Hag was also blasted for failing to make a move for Kalvin Philips. Kalvin Phiips is set to join Manchester City.

KALVIN PHILIPS MISS IS A BIG POTENTIAL MISS ON THE MARKET

Philips has become a key player for Leeds United since graduating from their academy. His performances earned him a place in the England squad. the performances of the midfielder for the club and country were brilliant. Many plaudits have branded him as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. He was linked with Manchester United in the starting days of the window.

However, he is now set to link up with Man City. It will further strengthen Pep Guardiola’s squad. This is a move that stands in stark contrast to United’s summer business. Manchester United and Ten Hag are still yet to make a signing. This is despite 11 players leaving at the end of the season. In such circumstances, Philips would appear a perfect target. But, Red Devils are set to miss out on the midfielder.

THE TRANSFER STRATEGY OF MANCHESTER UNITED AGAIN CRITICISED

Ten Hag’s failure to push to sign the 26-year-old has now been blasted by former Chelsea star Tony Cascarino. He believes that Manchester United will come to see Philips as a huge miss in their transfer strategy. “I don’t know why Man United have not made a move for Kalvin Phillips. They might say that they tried to and he’d already decided that he was going to City, but he’s exactly what Man United needs,” he told talkSPORT. He also adds United needs a midfielder who can win the ball and let other players do their own thing. Meanwhile, City will pay Leeds an initial fee of £42million in exchange for Phillips, with a further £3m coming through potential bonuses.

Meanwhile United boss Ten Hag is still attempting to secure his first signing. The Dutchman is hoping to bring both Frenkie De Jong and Christian Eriksen to Old Trafford. However, the deals are progressing slowly.
