West Brom pushing for a loan move for Leicester’s Choudhury

Leicester City

Steve Bruce is keen to put his own stamp on the West Bromwich team in order to break into the Premiership this summer

West Bromwich Albion have been linked with Leicester City’s Hamza Choudhury this summer. The club wants a loan deal for the midfielder this season in order to bolster their chances of premiership qualification.

Choudhry plays as a defensive midfielder for Leicester. However, he is no longer favorable in manager Brendan Rogers‘ eyes. The midfielder doesn’t have a future at the club under the manager and has been told the same. He has also been asked to find a new club this summer.

According to a report in the Athletic, Leicester want to permanently part ways with the player. His contract is set to expire at the end of the 2022/23 season. This means, Leicester are hoping to get some fee for his departure this season rather than on free transfer next season. West Brom are said to prefer a loan move for the player rather than a permanent transfer.

Albion are pretty keen on getting a player like Choudhury. He has the caliber and prowess that Steve Bruce expects from his players. Choudhury has made 53 Premier League appearances for Leicester City since making his debut in 2017. He was also a part of the 2020-21 FA Cup-winning side.

Albion’s push for a Choudhury loan is most feasible

Choudhury will be a good signing for West Brom this summer. He fits the profile of the kind of player wanted by Bruce. However, it all depends on whether the two clubs can get on the same page regarding the transfer decision about the midfielder.

This transfer decision might be the best for both the player and West Brom. There is no football coming his way in Leicester. This gives Choudhury, who’s still relatively young, game time and a chance to continue his career in a positive way.
