The Gunners had Gabriel Jesus of Manchester City as their top target. Now that the deal is out of the way, they will be looking to strengthen their midfield. They lack a creative presence from deep, and Youri Tielemans can fill that void.
Tielemans has one year left on his Leicester contract. The Belgian has indicated that he will not sign an extension to stay with the Foxes.

The Sun, however, reports that Arsenal has increased their interest in Tielemans. They have reportedly agreed on personal terms already. Now, the 25-year-old is close to agreeing to a £30 million deal. After Tielemans is over the line, Arteta will compete against United once more for Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez.
Tielemans can be a fantastic addition to the North London club’s midfield. Granit Xhaka has shown to be unreliable at times, while Mohammed Elneny is not at the level Arsenal fans want. Speculation has risen over Thomas Partey’s participation next season, while Lokong is quite raw. Tielemans can easily slot into their team and improve its level.
