Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is reportedly going to rest eight players for the Europa League game against FC Zurich. However, he is still going to Switzerland with a strong squad.
Although, Arteta is hoping the majority of the eight players will be available for the next Premier League game against Everton. Hence, Mikel Arteta is expecting a fit squad by next week.
ARSENAL ARE GOING TO MISS 8 PLAYERS AGAINST FC ZURICH
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is reportedly going to rest eight players for the Europa League game against FC Zurich. However, the squad is going to be strong to go to Switzerland. Arteta is currently facing a number of injury-related issues. It looks like Arteta is preferring the Premier League games ahead of Europa League. Arsenal are the contenders to top their group and win the whole tournament.
However, they will have a big task on their hand. The Gunners are having injury concerns at the moment. Mohamed Elneny is going to be out for a number of months. Thomas Partey, Cedric Soares, Emile Smith Rowe, and Reiss Nelson also did not travel. There are also concerns over the fitness of some other players. However, Mikel Arteta still has a number of talented players to win the match against FC Zurich.
MIKEL ARTETA IS STILL GOING TO HAVE A STRONG ELEVEN TO FIELD IN THE EUROPA LEAGUE GAME
Matt Turner is likely to make his first Gunners debut. Whereas, Takheiro Tomiyasu is also in line for his first start for the season. He will come in at right-back. This will also mean that Ben White will play at his favored center-back position. Ben White is likely to partner with Rob Holding at center-back. Whereas, Saliba and Gabriel will be given a breather.
Kieran Tierney is also likely to start as Zinchenko will be given rest. However, Arsenal are short on the midfield. Hence, Granit Xhaka and Albert Sambi Lokonga will start. However, Odegaard will be rested as Fabio Viera will likely start his first game. In attack, Eddie Nketiah is expected to start. Marquinhos is also ready for his debut. Martinelli will however start. Whereas, Saka and Gabriel Jesus will be given rest.
Arsenal expected XI vs FC Zurich: Turner; Tomiyasu, White, Holding, Tierney; Lokonga, Vieira, Xhaka; Marquinhos, Nketiah, Martinelli. This line-up is likely enough to rest a win against FC Zurich. Many of these players will also try to prove themselves for the start to Mikel Arteta.
