ARSENAL AND PEPE TRANSFER LINKS FULL STORY

According to reports, Arsenal are showing interest in signing Porto winger Pepe. The report also claims that Juventus and Chelsea are also monitoring his situation. However, the winger would prefer to play for the Gunners. Although, there is one problem with the possibility of signing the winger. It is not the name before the neutral fans start joking about the failure of 70 million signing Nicolas Pepe at the club. The problem is actually the price tag set by Porto for their star winger.

A number of reports claim that the Portuguese giants are demanding payment of a mega release clause of 75 million. It is claimed that they are keeping the price high to keep their winger till the end of the season. Hence, even after the interest of Arsenal, they are not going to reduce their asking price. Pepe is also open to a move to the Premier League giants. However, the 25-year-old will not force a move in the midseason. Therefore, it looks like Pepe is going to be one of many options for the left-winger signing.

THE GUNNERS NEED TO SIGN A LEFT WINGER IN THE JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW

Arsenal will need to sign a left-winger in the January transfer window. This is because they cannot depend on Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka throughout the season. Hence, a new winger needs to be signed by Mikel Arteta. He also needs to find a winger that can play as a striker. This is because of the major knee injury to their star striker Gabriel Jesus. The Brazilian striker is set to be out for at least 3 months. Hence, the Gunners need a winger that can help get goals from the striker position and deputize for Eddie Nketiah.

At the moment, Mykhaylo Mudryk is their main target for the winger position. He is the main transfer target because Mikel Arteta believes that he can adapt as a striker. However, the price tag of the Ukrainian winger remains unclear. Shakhtar Donetsk continues to ask over 80 million for their star winger. However, reports suggest a deal can be made for 50-60 million. Hence, it is clear that the Gunners will have work to do on their potential signings in the January transfer window.

Arsenal will hope that Porto also can reduce the price tag of Pepe. This will help the Gunners have another winger-signing option in the January transfer window. However, the only thing on Mikel Arteta’s mind will be to set the best team without their main striker Gabriel Jesus. The club has just announced that Gabriel Jesus has had a successful knee surgery.
