Arsenal defender William Saliba is reportedly in positive discussions to extend his contract. The club have also triggered the option to extend his contract until the 2024 summer transfer window.
However, they are also in discussions to make him sign a long-term contract. The French defender is also happy with the game time and performances for the club.
ARSENAL IN POSITIVE CONTRACT DISCUSSIONS WITH WILLIAM SALIBA

The report also confirms that the Gunners have triggered the option to extend his contract until 2024. However, the Gunners want to keep him at the club longer than 2024. The report also claims that the defender is also very happy with the results and his own performances. Hence, talks are going very positively with the defender. Therefore, all the parties are hopeful of an agreement.
The report also claims that Paris Saint-Germain are monitoring his situation. However, Arsenal does not have any intentions of selling him in the near future. Hence, this is a clear indication that Mikel Arteta sees him as a very important player in present and the future. However, the Premier League giants will have to give him a good pay rise on his new potential contract. I think he’s shown in the months that he’s been with us the quality and the personality he has to play at the level that we want. We are trying to do that because we know he can be a really important part of our plans.”

The report also claims that the Gunners are in positive discussions to extend the contracts of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli. Hence, another thing is clear Mikel Arteta wants to retain the young core of the team for future seasons.
