THE RISE OF ARSENAL UNDER MIKEL ARTETA

Arsenal missed out on the Champions League this season. Many thought that pressure would increase on manager Mikel Arteta. However, the owners decided to back the manager. They have also made it clear that they see the long-term future of the club under Arteta. Hence, the top hierarchy decided to provide Arteta with a mega-budget this season.

The aim is clear for Arteta and the owners this season. It is to qualify for the Champions League. The report also claims that the owners have promised players huge bonuses for qualifying in the Champions League. It looks like the players are also responding to the trust and the promises. Arsenal are currently first in the Premier League table and first in their Europa League group.

THE WAGE BUDGET OF THE CLUB HAS INCREASED THIS SEASON

Arsenal allowed Arteta to spend lavishly this season on transfers. However, they had to see their wage budget going up. The new summer signing Gabriel Jesus is the highest earner at the club. He reportedly earns 265,000 pounds a week. Whereas Thomas Partey is the second-highest earner at the club. He roughly earns 200,000 pounds a week.

The other players on the list are Zinchenko, Ben White, Xhaka, Odegaard, Tierney, Nketiah, Martinelli, and Cedric. They all roughly earn between 100,000 pounds-150,000 pounds per week at the club. However, at the moment all the Arsenal fans will have to admit that these players are giving more than they are worth. Mikel Arteta will also no doubt have the same opinion.

Hence, Arsenal owners will be happy to spend for success and trophies. However, Arteta has to keep challenging for cup trophies and the Premier League trophy. At the moment, it is looking like money is being spent smartly by Mikel Arteta.
