Arsenal reportedly rejected loan offers from the Premier League sides for Florian Balogun in the last summer transfer window. They also rejected offers of the sides in Italy and Germany.
Hence, in the end, they loaned him to Ligue 1 side Reims till the end of the season. The England U-21 striker is also currently the leading goal scorer in the league ahead of Messi and Mbappe.
ARSENAL WILL HAVE A BIG DECISION TO MAKE ON FLORIAN BALOGUN IN THE NEXT SUMMER TRANSFER WINDOW
According to reports, Arsenal have no intention to loan Florian Balogun for the next season. They have also made it clear to his agent that the Gunners are also not open to selling him. This is despite interest from AC Milan and Inter Milan for the next summer transfer window. The Gunners are also open to give him a pay rise on his existing contract. Hence, it looks like Mikel Arteta has a big plan for Florian Balogun after his loan spell at Reims this season.
There were also rumours of Arsenal recalling Balogun from his loan spell in the January transfer window. It was because of the injury to Gabriel Jesus. However, in the end, it all turned into baseless rumours. It is clear that they always wanted him to finish the season with Reims. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed the same. He further said, “Arsenal never thought of Balogun back in January, they wanted to protect him as Reims loan has been an excellent decision,”.
FABRIZIO ROMANO HAS ALSO PROVIDED FURTHER INFORMANTION ON THE ENGLAND FORWARD
According to Fabrizio Romano, a number of Premier League clubs, Bundesliga and Serie A clubs showed interest in signing Florian Balogun on loan at the start of the season. However, in the end, the Gunners thought Reims was the perfect option for his development. A number of top clubs even tried in the January transfer window. However, the Gunners made a stern decision to keep Florian Balogun with the Ligue 1 club till the end of the season.
Romano on the future of the young Arsenal striker further said, “Some Italian clubs wanted Balogun in July and also two Premier League clubs and Borussia Monchengladbach but France was the best option. Arsenal will decide his future in May/June, not now.” A report also claims that the Gunners hope his value will rise to 50 million in the next summer transfer window. Hence, his future for the next season at the moment is to return to the Gunners training ground.
Arsenal at the moment have Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah in their striker ranks. The Gunners currently play with only one striker at top. Hence, after Balogun it will be three forward fighting for the starting spot next season. Therefore, it looks like the Gunners will have no need to spend money on signing a forward in the next summer transfer window.
