Manchester City winger Jack Grealish has praised the impact of Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus. Hence, it looks like Pep Guardiola may have made a mistake by selling him this summer.
However, they ended up signing Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez as his replacement. Therefore, a Manchester City fan cannot certainly say that they lack the ambition of their owners.
THE STRUGGLE OF GABRIEL JESUS AT MANCHESTER CITY
Manchester City thought they had signed the next Aguero with Gabriel Jesus. However, their fans got disappointed till the end of the journey. This is because the current Arsenal striker was struggling a little under Pep Guardiola. Hence, he got a bench role with Manchester City. The Brazilian was brilliant with his link-up play and his assists. However, Gabriel Jesus failed to get goals on consistent intervals for the team. Hence, the team failed to win the Champions League.
There were also times that he was criticized for his lack of goals. Hence, Manchester City decided to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund. They also won the race to sign young and brilliant striker Julian Alvarez. Hence, Gabriel Jesus was set to become the third-choice striker. Therefore, he made the decision to leave the Champions at the end of the season. Hence, at the start of this summer transfer window, Arsenal pounced on the opportunity and signed him for 55 million.
ARSENAL GOT THE PERFECT STRIKER FOR THE PRESENT AND FUTURE
A number of reports made it clear that Gabriel Jesus joined Arsenal to play under the management of Mikel Arteta. Mikel Arteta was the assistant for Manchester City. Many of the City players including Jesus praised his management. Hence, it was clear that Arteta was bringing in a striker with ambition and quality to win them trophies. It also turned into a great opportunity for Jesus to cement a place in the Brazilian national team. Therefore, it looks like Gabriel Jesus is here to win trophies with the Gunners. The striker put in some brilliant all-round performances for Arsenal in the first half of the season.
Manchester City winger Jack Grealish has also praised the ability of his former City teammate. He further said,
“Ask anyone that’s played with him – I know he’s getting more recognition now, but he’s the main man,”.
“In training, honestly, he was frightening. I spoke to Saka last month and he was like: ‘Jack, he’s unbelievable’. Jesus’ play is just this mix of proper rawness and skill. He’s a lovely guy, but he’s so hungry and aggressive when he plays.”
Hence, it looks like both Arsenal and Manchester City got the best deal for themselves. However, it looks like Gabriel Jesus has benefitted the most. The brilliant all-round game in the first half of the season helped him secure a place in the World Cup. Hence, it looks like the Gunners will potentially see a more dangerous Gabriel Jesus in the second half of the season.
