Martin Braithwaite and Barcelona are reportedly ready to terminate his contract. The forward is under contract with the club till 2024.

However, the club are desperate to sell players that do not feature in Xavi’s plans in the upcoming season. The forward has also a number of proposals if he leaves the club on a free transfer.

According to reports, both the club and player are keen to arrive at a solution. Martin is facing an uncertain future at the club. After the signing of Robert Lewandoski, the Danish forward has fallen down the pecking order. The player is currently surplus to requirements. He will be reportedly allowed to leave this summer. However. Barcelona are struggling to get a fee for the forward.

There are many clubs interested in the forward. However, they will only negotiate if the forward terminates his contract with the Catalan club. The report also states that a Premier League side and a team from the Middle East are interested in the forward. Getafe and Celta are also interested. However, he will have to take a pay cut to join either of the La Liga sides.

The report also adds that Xavi is keen to sell the deadwood before signing any players. He does not want an oversized squad in the training. Barcelona also reportedly agree with his opinion. If the player does not leave the club, Xavi is reportedly going to tell them to train with the reserves team. Considering their finances, the club is also telling the surplus players to let go of salaries if they wish to terminate the contract.

However, Joan Laporta has labeled it as fake news. He says if the player is not able to find a new club, he will be paid his full salary at Barcelona. A number of players like Samuel Umtiti, Sergino Dest, and Memphis Depay along with Braithwaite have been told to move on. However, they all are reluctant to leave the club.

Although, it seems Martin Braithwaite has changed his opinion in the last few days. The report also states that the Catalan club would have liked to get a fee for the forward. However, it seems the club will have let go of the forward on a free transfer.
