Chelsea gains unexpected advantage ahead of Aston Villa clash as £52 million striker returns to Cobham

Chelsea striker, Christopher Nkunku, made an effort to lighten the atmosphere by providing a brief report on his fitness.

Due to a poorly timed knee injury sustained in the final preseason game, the 25-year-old has been sidelined for the remainder of the current season. Chelsea forward, Christopher Nkunku, posted a status update on Instagram to inform followers of his injury recovery progress.

The French forward settled into life as a Chelsea player quickly. He scored three goals in preseason before suffering an injury that has kept him sidelined ever since.

There is no question that Mauricio Pochettino’s team has suffered without him, as they have had difficulty scoring goals in the Premier League. Raheem Sterling is currently leading the way following his brace against Nottingham Forest.

In spite of the fact that Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson had such a promising relationship, since Nkunku’s injury, the Senegalese international has only managed one goal. Jackson’s overall performance has been slipping as a result of his goal-scoring woes and the club’s continued losing streak.

With an average age of 23.5, Chelsea has the youngest roster in the Premier League. However, the squad’s performances haven’t been great. The most recent draw against Bournemouth has many wondering if Mauricio Pochettino’s project is on the right track.

Chelsea forward posted on social media about his injury recovery progress

Nkunku has posted an update online as Chelsea enters a crucial stretch of games after a challenging start. Alongside a set of images, the former player for RB Leipzig and Paris Saint-Germain posted on social media

“In progress..[timer emoji]”

Nkunku is pictured working out in various settings, including working in the pool and weight training with kettle bells in the gym. He is anticipated to be absent until at least November, with December being a more likely return date. It may be 2024, before he is match ready.

He struggled with similar injuries the season before, missing the World Cup with France over the winter, but he nevertheless returned to German domestic action and finished the season as the league’s leading scorer. Chelsea, who continues to lack his spark, will now be hoping he can accomplish the same feat in Stamford Bridge.
