Chelsea lost to Leeds United 3-0 away from home. The win kept Leeds’s unbeaten record alive this season. Blues boss Thomas Tuchel also showed his displeasure over the surprise defeat.

Tuchel also made it clear there is no need to panic in the transfer market after the loss. However, the Blues are going to accelerate their pursuit of Wesley Fofana.

CHELSEA VS LEEDS UNITED FULL POST-MATCH REPORT

Chelsea started the match brilliantly. They controlled the majority of the game. However, they could not score the goal in the net. Leeds United also started getting control of the game. The icing on the cake was the third and final goal of the game by Jack Harrison. The goal secured a brilliant win for the Yorkshire giants. Leeds outran Chelsea throughout all 90 minutes. However, Thomas Tuchel feels the Blues lost the game because they wasted their opportunities. The German is also looking to end the transfer with a number of signings.

THOMAS TUCHEL WAS DISAPPOINTED WITH THE PERFORMANCE

Thomas Tuchel said that he was very disappointed with the performances of the players. He said, “I think we lost it in the first 20 minutes. We created enough chances, half chances, and chances to be 1-0 or 2-0 up. Then we lost the discipline, the repetition of what we wanted to do and what we did okay in the first 20 minutes. Instead of 2-0, it became an even match, and in that even match, we gave two goals away that were cheap and unnecessary.

Chelsea miserable afternoon was further compounded by a needless red card by new summer signing Kalidou Koulibaly. The Senegal international will now miss next week’s fixture against Leicester City. Chelsea currently are 12th in the Premier League. However, they could further drop down the table depending on the result of Liverpool and Manchester United.

Thomas Tuchel is also now going to focus on the last days of the summer transfer window. The Blues are working hard to sign Wesley Fofana. The defender has already agreed on personal terms. However, Chelsea are finding it to finalize an agreement on a fee with the Foxes.
