Is Josh Brownhill to Leicester City on the cards?

Leicester City have been able to sign only one player this season, and that was a third-choice goalkeeper. They are, however, looking at recently relegated Josh Brownhill to strengthen their squad.

Leicester have had a poor start to their season. They currently sit bottom of the league and have lost their first-choice goalkeeper and Wesley Fofana. Things do not look good at the moment at the King Power Stadium.

They were seen as the team to break into the “Big 6”, but this has not happened. In fact, their previous season was a disaster, and now they are starting to lose their players. The financial situation has crippled them in the transfer market as well. However, Josh Brownhill may be a name that can be an addition to their squad in the final hours of the window.

Josh Brownhill is a 26-year-old midfielder playing for Burnley. He has a good amount of Premier League experience. Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemens is the subject of interest from Arsenal, and Brownhill can ensure that there is cover in case of a departure.

Can Leicester get Brownhill?

This season, Brownhill has been a constant starter for Burnley under new manager Vincent Kompany. He has four goals already. His leadership skills are admired as well,  and he captained the Clarets in a game against Watford earlier this month.

While Brownhill typically plays as a number eight, he can also play more forward positions and even in a holding role. This versatility could be crucial in attracting interest from Leicester.

However, it may not be easy to get Brownhill this late in the window. He is a key member of the Burnley squad, and they would not like him to go at this stage. Leicester may have to work extra hard to secure his signature.
