Manchester United reportedly cannot afford the loan fee of Joao Felix in the January transfer window. Arsenal are also monitoring the situation of the Portuguese forward.
However, Atletico Madrid continues to ask for a 19 million loan fee for only 6 months. Hence, the La Liga giants will have drastically reduced his loan fee to loan him out.

According to reports, Manchester United are showing interest in signing Joao Felix on loan in the January transfer window. They have also informed his agent Jorge Mendes of their interest. However, they are not ready to pay the 19 million loan fee for him. Hence, Mendes is going to request Atletico Madrid to reduce his loan fee. The report also claims that the Red Devils are targeting a new striker in January. However, they will only sign the striker on loan.
Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has also made the same claim. He said,
“The only issue for United, with regard to Joao Felix, and why they aren’t going to go for him is simply because they can’t afford the price that Atletico Madrid would be wanting for a six-month loan. “I’m being told it’s around £19m including wages. £19m for six months? It doesn’t make sense for United as far as they’re concerned. They would be interested in a player like Joao Felix but not at the terms quoted.
ARSENAL ARE ALSO SHOWING INTEREST IN THE PORTUGUESE FORWARD
According to reports, Manchester United are not the only team in contention for his signature. Arsenal are also showing interest in the Portuguese forward. The report also claims that Mikel Arteta would love to sign Felix and Mykhaylo Mudryk in the January transfer window. However, the Gunners are also not ready to pay 19 million for 6 months. Hence, it is clear that Atletico Madrid have to reduce their loan fee demands for Joao Felix.
The report also claims that the La Liga giants are not willing to add a buy option in the loan deal. This is because his price could increase next season if he performs well on loan. The report also claims that the forward would love to sign for Paris Saint-Germain. However, there is no indication that Ligue 1 side are showing interest in him. Hence, it looks like the race is currently between the two Premier League giants. This is because the Portuguese forward wants European football for the remainder of the season.
Aston Villa and Newcastle United are also showing interest. However, Joao Felix has no interest in signing for both of the teams. Hence, Manchester United and Arsenal are the only ones with serious interest. There are also chances that Atletico Madrid might just keep the Portuguese till the end of the season.
