Jacob Ramsey has come through the youth ranks of Aston Villa. The 20-year-old who plies his trade in the midfield made his debut for the Villans’ senior side back in 2019. However, it has not been easy for Ramsey to crack into the first-team of Villa. The midfielder played a combined 65 games for the U18s and U23 sides of Villa. Ramsey had an impressive 24 goals and 11 assists to show for those 65 games.
As a result, then Villa manager Dean Smith handed Ramsey his senior team debut in the Championship against West Bromwich Albion. Ramsey’s work-rate, ethic and ability to constantly learn surely appeases the Gerrard who has entrusted him with 25 league starts this term.
