Chelsea are reportedly plotting an ambitious bid to sign Nordi Mukiele. The Blues want to improve the squad before the transfer window ends.

The club desperately want to sign a center-back. They have already lost out on the signings of Jules Kounde and Matthijs De Ligt.

According to reports, PSG have already an agreement worth £55m in place for Nordi Mukiele. The defender is set to leave RB Leipzig this summer. The French giants reportedly want to conclude the deal this week. PSG are currently trying to rebuild the squad by signing young and exciting players. However, Chelsea are now looking to hijack the bid with a tempting proposal.

Chelsea are reportedly not willing to match PSG’s bid. Hence, they are looking to attempt to reach an agreement in a different way. According to reports, Chelsea are considering offering Timo Wener as a part of the package that would see Mukiele go in the opposite direction. Thomas Tuchel is also ready to part ways with Werner. However, RB Leipzig have still not agreed to such a proposal.

The Blues scouting team is reportedly very impressed with the profile of Nordi Mukiele. He is one of the players under consideration. Chelsea also have not given up the hope of hijacking the bid. However, they know they need to move fast for the defender if interested. PSG are known for completing deals very fast. So, Chelsea already know who they are against in the race for his signature.

The Blues have already signed Kalidou Koulibaly this summer. However, they are keen to bring one more center-back this summer. They have already lost Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen on free transfers this summer. Both have joined Real Madrid and FC Barcelona respectively this summer. The Club captain Cesar Azpilicueta also faces an uncertain future. Barcelona are also keen on his services.

Mukiele has been a very important part of the Bundesliga club. He helped the club finish fourth and win DFB-Pokal Cup last season. He also has announced his departure from the club. However, PSG and RB Leipzig are yet to officially announce the deal.
