CHELSEA AND WESLEY FOFANA TRANSFER LINKS FULL STORY

According to reports, Leicester have rejected the initial bid made by Chelsea for the defender. The bid was reportedly around £63m. However, the bid was significantly below the asking price. The asking price by the Foxes for Fofana is £80m. This is the figure they got for Harry Maguire when he was sold to Manchester United. The Blues and the player still remain keen on the move.

However, Rodgers has again confirmed that he is not for sale. Although, he said they might sell some important players to buy as they are close to breaking FFP rules. Hence, a move for Wesley Fofana to Chelsea cannot be ruled out. The report also states that the defender has agreed personal terms with the Blues. He has also removed the name of Leicester City from his social media bio.

THE BLUES ARE FINALLY SPEEDING UP THEIR TRANSFER ACTIVITY

Chelsea seem to speed up their transfer activity after a series of disappointments. After the rejections of Jules Kounde and Raphinha to Barcelona, they have managed to keep Cesar Azpilicueta at the club. The club captain has signed a new contract at the club amid interest from Barcelona. Thomas Tuchel and owner Todd Boehly both wanted him to stay at the club.

Marc Cucurella is also now close to signing for Chelsea. They have agreed to a £55 million fee for the full-back. They have also agreed personal terms with the player. He is going to complete his medical in the coming days. Whereas Levi Colwill is going to join Brighton on loan for the season. After the signing of Cucurella, the club will confirm on Wesley Fofana and attacker signings for the remainder of the window.

Todd Boehly has been trolled by many pundits for failing to get the signings over the line after agreeing a fee. However, he is now trying to sign the other targets for Thomas Tuchel. Thomas Tuchel has also admitted that the club needs to sign three to four players to be ready for the season.
